  3. THE DAILY TIMETABLE
  4. When Parliament is sitting, the Commons meets at 
  5. 2.30 pm on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, and at 
  6. 9.30 am on Wednesday and Friday. Proceedings open 
  7. with prayers, after which the Speaker takes the Chair. 
  8. The House moves on to Questions to Ministers, which 
  9. last about an hour. On Wednesday, about 30 minutes of 
  10. this time is given over to Prime Minister's Questions.

  12. After Questions, the House moves on to more detailed work: 
  13. Ministerial Statements first, then any requests for an Emergency 
  14. Debate, and finally Public Business - which usually lasts until at least 10.00 pm, and is devoted to the passage of Bills through the House or more general debates. A short period at the end of the day is set aside for presenting Petitions, and the daily Adjournment debate.
